Next Silicon Cape event in Cape Town #siliconcape

After my post about Silicon Cape missing out on PayPal, which I know they’ve all read, it’s going to be really interesting to see what is going to be said about what steps are being made to help all us Capetonians who are involved in the IT sector in the Western Cape.

Justin’s mentioned the following line-up of speakers:

  • To keep things light hearted and hilarious, we have roped in one of South Africa’s Most Amazing entertainers, Rob van Vuuren (from Corne and Twakkie fame), as the MC;
  • Justin Stanford will give us a short and sweet update on what’s been happening in the Silicon Cape;
  • One of SA’s leading investors will offer some concise insights into what investors are looking for; and
  • Then we open the floor up to YOU, the entrepreneurs. 6 – 8 entrepreneurs will be given the opportunity to shake some stealth by pitching their business ideas to the audience. The audience will vote for their favourite and a small prize will be handed over along with everlasting fame.

A cash bar and food stalls will be provided, so don’t forget to bring a few bucks (amazed there are no sponsors for this).

Date: 31st March 2010 from 6PM to 11PM
Location: The Old Biscuit Mill
Address: 375 Albert Road, Woodstock, Cape Town

RSVP here (note the poll on the right for your response).

I’ll be heading through to listen to the talks, so come along and join me if you’re keen.
