No offence to the girl, but it sounds likes she’s singing through her nose.
Now a days every Afrikaner that can get their hands on a backtrack thinks they can sing, and yes I am Afrikaans speaking.
Just give me people that makes real music and I’m happy, I can’t stand these backtrack singers.
I must admit, I don’t think she sings that well; When I look at Locnville, they might not be the _best_ singers, but they’ve got way more character and talent, in my opinion..

Well its your opinion and I don’t agree with it. I think Chris M and Gerhard are just jealous that its not there video!!! Kyla looks beautiful and she has got a stunning voice!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE her song and know she is going to make it BIG!!

As for the comments not showing immediately ChrisM uses a caching system so it takes a while to show up.
So the girl is 14, that doesn’t mean she deserves to be treated better than any other artist. I still won’t buy or recommend her CD to anybody, luckily I can choose what I listen to.

They greatest thing about being alive in this modern world has to be FREE SPEECH and the various platforms we can express ourselves.
In the same breath it is really sad that shallow “nobody” people find it necessary to criticize the efforts of other people … when they clearly are not qualified to do so?
14yrs old with a video on YouTube, she probably has more experience that the critics on this blog!
The biggest problem of our beloved country is that we do not punt and support our local talent. Give them the opportunity to try and make something of their lives … especially something you will most likely never achieve considering that you have no ear for talent! And if you don’t like what you see or here then find something that you do rather than waste your time with the crap that you posted above!!!
I have never bought an Afrikaans CD in my life but now I will definitely buy the single of KylaD when it is launched (thanks to this blog) … because I can and because this is my way of supporting a local 14 year female artist who can only get better and better with age!

More than often one hears the statement “talk is cheap …”, I’m willing to offer 20 CD’s, when they are launched, of her single to all constructive feedback on the video. I will pay for the CD’s and courier to the 1st 20 constructive comments (individual people).
Here’s a thought to leave you with. Miley Cyrus did not always sound as good as she does at present. Her singing technique has improved over the years and evolved to what it is now. Download one of her 1st tracks and you will identify a distinct difference of her singing when she started vs now? So, why not give this young lady the opportunity and maybe just maybe she could be our very own Miley Cyrus of SA?
I have done some research on this artist and established that she is also going to be launching English songs.
