An example of YouTube spam by a South African

As most of us know, Google is the most popular search engine and when performing searches, YouTube videos are included in the results. That being said, most SEOs will know that creating a video and carefully titling the video could result in a good search result.

Here’s a good example of someone, who actually doesn’t know SEO at all (I checked), attempting this strategy:

I mean, I totally get it, make a video, drive some traffic to it, pump up the views and get a good ranking in the SERPs, but seriously, at least take the time to create a proper video and not a 19 second clip of a single image – that’s rubbish spam!

Fortunately their video doesn’t appear in the SERPs and hopefully it won’t ever. Here’s an attempt I made several months back (you’ll see the irony in the screenshot above, lol):

My aims weren’t around SEO though, but more around proving this exact point to a client at the time – seems I was successful :)
