Today is the day, where everyone will be watching Cape Town whilst Fifa announces which teams will be competing against eachother. This is obviously a huge milestone, we’ve all been waiting in anticipation about 2010 and the whole World Cup vibe and today’s the day it will become more of a reality.
In light of this, there will be a massive party on Long Street, which is free to the public and promises to be a manic event! Personally, I am going to stay away, I don’t think it’s my kind of vibe.
Many Cape Town roads are going to be closed because of this, so if you’re curious, click here and have a look at the details.
The line up for tonight is as follows:
12h00 Cultural Performers
13h30 Alister Isobel & Band
14h00 Fan Fest Launch
14h20 Cultural Performers
16h20 Fancy Galada
16h40 Coda
17h00 Flat Stanley
17h35 TKZee
18h15 K’Naan
19h00 Live Draw (on screen)
20h45 Africa Unite
20h50 Freshlyground
21h50 Cassette
22h45 Jimmy Dludlu
Have fun to those of you who go, and please be careful!!!
UPDATE:
“Cape Town – Police say a man was arrested after he made two hoax phone calls saying a bomb had been planted at the airport amid tight security for Friday’s World Cup draw.
Superintendent Vish Naidoo said police working with other law enforcement agencies were able to quickly establish that the bomb threat was a hoax and tracked the man down to a suburb in Cape Town.
In another security threat, sniffer dogs and a bomb disposal unit have been brought to Cape Town International Convention Center and entrances sealed off.
Naidoo could not immediately say what the threat was. Large crowds of curious onlookers and media gathered at the scene.” ~ News24

“I think it’s going to be a huge party, but incredible dangerous”
I like you blog and know it’s your blog and freedom of speech and all, but I think this is a reckless statement for a blog of your standing.
@sahopeful, thank you for your comment, this just in..
