My phone froze and Nokia Cell Doc PE took it saying 3- 9 days to repair and then do not get back to you even if you call them. I only used Nokia for many years but the service is now so bad, that they are nothing but an insult to themselves.

I am still waiting for my phone and all Nokia Cell Doc PE can tell me is that it is lying in Jo'burg.

I now have an HTC as it is clear that Nokia do not care if their customers require there phones for business. Even when I asked for something to use there was no answer. Why deal with a company that is clearly loosing there focus. Obviously they are so successful that they do not need to satisfy their customers any more.

I believe nokia have released the next version of firmware upgrade, but the release hasn’t yet propgated to all their channels.
If i enter my product code in the “Can I update?” part of their website it says the latest version in 20.x, but clicking on the n97 from the list of devices to update on their website, they then tell me the latest firmware version is 12.x, when will the Version 20 be released in SA

I had the same problem and could not update from V10 to V12. I happened to reset the phone to factory settings and then tried the updater and the phone updated. It mat have just been a coincidence. I am in South Africa.

hey guys, has any other one tried this?? I´m working with V 10.2.012 RM 507 in Mexico. This device is giving us a lot of trouble, so we´re looking for solutions for all these bugs.
Hope this works...

Thanx

(JUST CORRECTED THE LINKS)It is the product code.Miguel is right,it is a 7 digit code behind the battery.I have successfully changed my product code and updated to V12. You need to use NSS to change the product code.

Application and info to change the product code is here: http://handphone-solution.blogspot.c…s-service.html

Product codes for N97 here: http://technician.via.my/2009/07/nok…e-listing.html

The person who originally posted the links used the following product code:
0570817: RM-505_EMEA_EURO_QW1 Black
I used it myself and it worked beautifully.

Hey guys. i gave back freezing, slow, crappy N97 back..what a bad experience phone was that? i hope Nokia developers get fired...its not a flagship phone. expecting a phone work DECENT(not awesome) out of the box is too much? N97 is FAIL with even its resistive touch screen. anyway my old E71 is still with me..its awesome. i also bought an iphone 3G...iam happy.

Nokia N97
Type: RM-505
Firmware: 11.0.021
Country: Netherlands
Operator: KPN

The SW Update on the phone, and the Nokia website both list 11.0.021 as the latest available firmware. Wondering when if Nokia will skip the 12.x update and release the 20.x firmware instead.
