Chris De Burgh tour South Africa

With more than 3000 concert performances worldwide from 1975, De Burgh’s forthcoming South African tour starts off in Johannesburg at the Big Top Arena, Carnival City Casino & Entertainment World on Saturday, 14 November 2009, at the Indoor Arena, International Convention Centre, Durban on Tuesday, 17 November and, lastly, at Kirstenbosch Gardens, Cape Town on Thursday, 19 November.

His latest contribution Footsteps follows the path of its predecessors by being a work of lyrical art. As quoted in the album’s sleeve “Inside this record you will find some of the songs that I have always loved to sing and that inspired me to become the performer and the songwriter I am today. Recorded in the studio with orchestra, band or just a guitar they represent the footsteps that I took on a musical journey that started as a dream and has gone further than I could ever of [sic] imagined.” His career includes 17 studio albums and LP sales in excess of 45 million.

Chris de Burgh came out to SA twice in the late 70′s if memory serves correctly. I went to see his Spanish Train performance and then his Lady in Red performance as well, both at the 3 ARTS in Cape Town, but I cannot remember the dates. Anyone out there have any idea where I can get this info?

Is Spanish Train Concert in Johannesburg was in latter part of 1979 in Johannesburg at The Colosseum!

Got something to say? Go for it!
