Apple iTunes price increase for popular tunes

A sad day for iTunes users across the world when Apple announced a new 3-tier pricing structure for various songs on their network.

The standard price was $0.99 per song, and now the most popular songs have had their prices increased to $1.29 per song. Not a massive increase or anything, but with the, apparent, economic crunch in the States, I’m sure many users will be hit by this – we can’t blame Apple though, salaries have to be paid!

Wired.com picked up on the story and has outlined all the facts, so be sure to read their article if this interests you!

Hahaha! In these times of economic despair, companies continue to make the decisions that push regular users towards piracy. Incredible.

Regardless…it’s still cheaper than buying a full cd…OR cheaper than buying a new computer after you’ve gotten viruses from websites like Limewire as I’ve done in the past!

Ye, I totally agree with you Amanda, just interesting to see all the global companies pushing their prices up and seeing how the public feel about it, etc..

Are you an avid iTunes purchaser?
