New Google Adsense cheque record reached!
I’m absolutely over the moon right now, as I hold this Adsense cheque proudly in my hand. To think of how much time I put into building a solid foundation, reaping the benefits is a wonderful feeling. It’s almost 5 digits long – I WILL do it one day!
For all those people who say you can’t make money online anymore, this one’s for you..
I think it’s starting to get impressive now, if I may say so, paying your rent and car repayments with Adsense is definitely possible!
I bet nobody else in South Africa has proof of higher! ;)
Disclaimer: This is 1 month, not accumlated.

WOWIE
That is amazing. Just how do you do it, Chris?
Nov 5th, 2008 at 10:15 pm
Honestly,
I’ve put a huge amount of effort into it. I started learning and reading about search engine optimization prior to 2000, it was something which interested me more than anything else and once I started seeing traffic, I wanted to make the traffic work for me, so I invested time into learning monetization techniques and that’s basically it in short.
Put it this way, if I got a cent for every article I’ve read, I’d not need to use Adsense ;)
Nov 5th, 2008 at 10:15 pm
Well done Chris
That is quite a handy amount. I have one question though, how much of that comes from iMod and then what is the split on your other blogs?
Would be interesting to see.

How ’bout a 3409483-part article on Adsense success?
Oh, and some tips on how you got the image to work in your addicted to blogging article. I think there might be something wrong with the code I got…
Nov 5th, 2008 at 10:21 pm
Hehe, I could blog 10 articles a day for a couple years about things I do and have learnt hey. I started on Webtrepreneur.co.za and just got too tired doing it all..
I took a screen shot, muahhaha ;)
Nov 5th, 2008 at 10:28 pm
I wanted to do that but then thought “no, don’t be silly; it won’t work”
Will do.
Fanks ;)
Nov 5th, 2008 at 10:29 pm
Hehe :)
What did you get?
Nov 5th, 2008 at 10:48 pm
Yeah but thats not for nothing though, you put a lot of effort in.
Nov 5th, 2008 at 10:50 pm
That’s exactly what I said, isn’t it? Besides, what do you get these days for nothing anyway?
Nov 5th, 2008 at 10:58 pm
I’m only a Standard Grade geek, unfortunately. I am playing around with bitmap images and stuff, not knowing what teh h*ll I’m doing :(
I’ll figure it out, I’m sure.
Nov 5th, 2008 at 11:01 pm
Run for .jpg’s babe :)
Nov 5th, 2008 at 11:19 pm
Hmmm… So do you want a photo? I have 2 R26,000 cheques from Google (and I should be receiving a R30,000+ one in the next month).
…………..
but it’s not just for one month :-) Though they seriously look impressive
Nov 5th, 2008 at 11:29 pm
Hehehhehe, nice one bud, regardless of one month or not, those are fancy cheques! I’d be interested to see a photo and over how many months did you incur that amount?
Well Done!
Nov 5th, 2008 at 11:46 pm
@Andre – Thanks for the kind words, appreciate it! Most of it comes from iMod in fact :)
Nov 6th, 2008 at 6:58 am
very nice Chris, and some good motivation for all of us.
Also good for the economy, bring in some of those $$ from overseas!
Nov 6th, 2008 at 8:53 am
Thanks Arne, glad I could drive motivation, that’s exactly what I searched for high and dry when I started out – people to push me :)
Nov 6th, 2008 at 11:36 am
Impressive stuff Chris. Wholey whack, that amount can be handy indeed. Well done.
Nov 6th, 2008 at 12:58 pm
good work mister mills! but my friend from school gets over R45 000 a month from Adsense (and that’s no lie! i’ve seen the cheque)
Nov 6th, 2008 at 1:01 pm
@David – Thanks mate, I’m pushing it to the max at the moment!
@Mike – Grief bro, that’s a serious number, is that for 1 month or accumulated?
Nov 6th, 2008 at 1:04 pm
Yeah its monthly
Nov 6th, 2008 at 1:06 pm
Smash my pride :P~
Nov 6th, 2008 at 1:08 pm
hehe yeah – wish it was me
Nov 6th, 2008 at 1:16 pm
that IS crazy money!
Nov 6th, 2008 at 3:17 pm
Big time!
Nov 6th, 2008 at 6:16 pm
HAHA my Adsense is sitting at $12 for last month to now. I guess so have to start somewhere. Beware Chris, for the Adsense check war is appraoching, just give me a few years :P
Nov 6th, 2008 at 7:13 pm
I’ll have to prepare myself! Keep pushing, it’s worth it :)
Nov 6th, 2008 at 11:17 pm
Chris – my first Adsense check is standing at $129 at the moment… Watch your back, LOL.
I’ve decided to make it my life’s work to make money off the internet. Been researching SEO like crazy the last month or so. To the extend that two of my articles on SEO got accepted by article directories this week. Hopefully I’ll generate some traffic to my blog due to that.
I’m new in the whole Adsense game, but I’m already helping friends setting it up blogs (it helps if you have your own hosting company) with Adsense on it.
My goal is a network of 50 Adsense websites or blogs in the next 3 years.
PS: Any help/advice from the Uber-Adsenser?
Nov 7th, 2008 at 1:33 am
Congrats Marius, that’s almost the same value as my first one!
Well done on the SEO work, if you’re really into it, take the time to follow sphinn.com closely, there’s some incredible information there. Oh, and bluehatseo.com – Eli is a genius.
With regards to advice and your network of 50 blogs, I would suggest building a powerful foundation, which allows you to add and remove sites from your network quickly, as well as updating adsense blocks across all the sites with just one administration and not 50..

Chris that is very nice pocket money for a month, honestly is it all white hat or a bit mix. Blackhat is not illegal, the problem is just that the big G don’t like competition. They are the biggest blackhatters.
Nov 7th, 2008 at 6:30 pm
No blackhat at all mate, I don’t practise the dark arts :)
Nov 7th, 2008 at 8:18 pm
@ Jacques
Big G handles 91Million searches a day. That’s 20 Petabytes (or 20 Billion Gigabytes) of data a day.
Unfortunately, due to this – they also get to make the rules…
Nov 7th, 2008 at 8:54 pm
@ Chris. I tried it but, now my fingers are black. The problem on the white side is there is so many advice and then on the next blog another person say no it don’t work. Any pointers Chris besides the 2 you already mention?
@Fixxxer. Interesting stuff there on your blog, but why a Zero PR? I would like to see G servers, it must be a couple of rugby fields big, any one here have a idea what it look like or how do they store all the info.
Nov 7th, 2008 at 10:31 pm
@Fixxer – That’s pretty true hey!
@Jacques – Ah ye, that’s a common problem, one source says it’s valuable, the other says it isn’t. I guess it boils down to who is most trustworthy, when you find an author’s website, look at who links to him and from that you can determine a lot. There are plenty of authors who are brilliant and completely white hat..
Dec 2nd, 2008 at 11:50 am
Oh my word…
That is a very decent amount of pocket money. But better yet, how cool is it to receive a cheque from google?
Much Respect!
Dec 2nd, 2008 at 11:54 am
Bret, it’s a great feeling isn’t it! I’ve received over 20 cheques from them and I still get a smile on my face when I receive one, not because it’s money, but simply because it’s from Google ;)
Dec 2nd, 2008 at 12:25 pm
Yeah that must be a great feeling :D. Nice work!
Chris, please write us an article: “Working alternatives to Adsense, for South Africans”
Would go down a treat, and be much appreciated by myself and many others.
Dec 2nd, 2008 at 12:42 pm
I will have a think about it for you, the other two that I use are OfferForge & TrafficSynergy. I have written about them in the past, so you could try doing a search on my website, alternatively, take a peak into my Forum, there’s an online marketing section.
Dec 2nd, 2008 at 1:07 pm
Fantastic!
Will follow up on those.
Thank’s for the great blog Chris.
Dec 2nd, 2008 at 1:23 pm
My pleasure Bret :)
Dec 2nd, 2008 at 1:27 pm
Some idiot went and clicked 69 times (!!!!!!!!!) on the same ad on one of my sites…
Google has now suspended my adsense account, and I lost something like $145 in the process. They have now also banned 4 of my domains (which are now worthless to me)
Who knows why someone would go and do something as stupid and vindictive (imo) like that.
Dec 2nd, 2008 at 1:31 pm
Which reminds me: I miss the good old days when you could track down someone’s home address if you knew his IP.
Now (almost) everything runs through proxies, which makes it much more difficult.
I will find this obsessive compulsive clicking idiot though. Watch for me in the news…
Dec 2nd, 2008 at 1:33 pm
@Marius – Have you tried contacting Google and asking them for an explanation? I worry about this sort of thing more often than I should as well..
Dec 2nd, 2008 at 1:54 pm
I have. I appealed the suspension. They replied (very formally, as usual) that they suspect click fraud (no shit, right?) and their decision is final.
So it’s done.
Dec 2nd, 2008 at 1:54 pm
Damn that’s annoying, sheesh, can’t believe they won’t look into it!
