this is a joke of the week, the irony is that he was talking about members of parliament digesting the finance document BUT he could not digest the fact that he is about to fall.
hahahaha!!!! that was a heavy fall.
That was hilarious!! After the first crack he was already thinking ‘oh s#*t’! and then it was all downhill from there… thank you for making me laugh :)
that was the most embarassing moment the guy has ever had,the least we can do is sympathize with him…….very funny thou because he had a chance to prevent himself from falling….i think from the time he heard the crack he should have done something, maybe stand up or something….i feel very sorry for him..man of his calibre!!!!
I’m just proud of that anchor, she handled it so well. i would have cracked up after he went tumbling down. Did you see his eyes? Omg that was so funny, I’ve been laughing about it the whole day. I wonder if they continued with the interview after that. Whats the SABC saying about this? They must fix their chairs – people will break their backs!
It is not funny at all, the senior leader of our country falls and whole country is laughing. I think Nhlanhla need to sue SABC and fire the whole team that was setting chairs.
Themba, you don’t have ANY sense of humour. Shame. If you were a bit more informed you would have read on news 24 that he HIMSELF laughed about it and joked about it. Themba, GET A LIFE!!!!
@Themba: I agree with you totally. He should sue the ass off them, I mean the pants, you know what I mean.
Also, possibly, I think our unseated hero should be open to the possibility of considering that maybe his eating plan idea of eating whatever he sees, might need some tweaking.
Easy fellows. I think Chris’ blog is great because we all try to keep stuff light here. I think some people are bound to see this mishap from a more serious angle and that’s their prerogative.
Themba..what you mean not funny…hell it’s the best laugh i’ve had in years…The Chairman nogal!!!
I think he said something about a “Done Deal” just before the deal with the chair went down….hahahaha…
Damn……
This is very funny, I am still laughing but I just asked myself what kind of chairs does SABC have. I think it was just a set up for a Black person to fall on National TV and the Whites should have a good laugh about it and say all sorts of nasty things like Trevor just did.
Trevor not everyone can be slim, the world would be so boring. The Chairs should be made to accomodate all sizes pls…
I’ve just watched it for the 38th and 39th time. I just cant stop laughing at it! THis is HILLARIOUS no matter what colour or race, whould have been JUST as funny if it were old “Krokkodil” or Trevor or “Kort Broek” or Helen. Why bring the race-issue into it? Its a humanitarian thing. A person out of his comfort zone. I personally can not help but laugh at ANY-ONE that falls, if its not serious. Come-on guys don’t mess it up. The hounorable Chairperson laughed about it himself.
Thabo – It bugs me so much when they say a big black man (Race come in) and also he’s going to know that too much gravy is not good. And yes maybe it wouldn’t have been this funny if it was Krokkodil or Trevor or whoever white person and You Thabo knows that or maybe you too young to know. People can and must joke about stuff in a polite way. If Nhlanhla would read all these nasty emails he wouldn’t be too happy. Its wrong and it has race written all over it.
Hey Unathi & Temba. Don’t be so quick to forget when Eugene Terblanche fell off his horse on national TV. That was the ultimate funny. We all made comments then so please take a chill pill. The “race” horse is tired!!
Of course this isn’t the best thing ever, but unfortunately things like this are amusing to the public, that’s kind of how it goes when you become a big media person.
That was bad guys, Mr Nene should take legal actions against SABC. This incident has also affected his little one at school. Mr Nene has just became a joke and his video clips are all over internet. If I was him I was gonna leave the country.
@Michael: “I guess Julius Malema would have threatened the whole SABC with death”
I would imagine that the SABC gets threatened with death on a daily basis for various reasons.
You know I made the huge mistake of falling for their patter about being licensed is the right thing to do and purchased a tv license back in 1995. I had rented a tv from teljoy for 3 months and purchased a tv license for it. Turns out that that was totally unnecessary since Teljoy licenses their TVs themselves.
I have never personally owned a TV in my life, and yet the SABC still hounds me with legal demands for arrears payments to this day, which I ignore. The last time I responded was in 1998 when I informed them that I did not own a TV nor ever had and that I erroneously bought a license when I briefly rented one. They told me to make an affidavit and fax it to them. I declined to jump through their hoops.
So, yeah, any reason to burn the SABC to the ground and summarily execute all the staff sounds good to me. Some black chap falling off his chair on national tv is as good a reason as any for going on a rampage. Sign me up!
Ye BlairH, I also watched it a couple times, I love the way it cracks the first time and he jiggles, but thinks nothing of it, then all of a sudden, BOOM! hahaha
We are to not to laugh at others dismay firstly the father is old than most of the previous contributors. It is not in our nature to just laugh.South African like to laugh a lot and thats good but we can not laugh at eveything. No wonder former president ‘laughed off’ our crime and aids.In the spirit of our first contributor probably said when the people needed the govts help in fighting AIDS “AIDS is not caused by HIV it would probably need more ‘aids’ to get there” and laughed away as he smoked his evening ‘cloud’.
I dont know why whites try and make jokes cause they are not funny in a manner that is not at all funny pretty sad actually.I mean a classic is ‘why did the chicken cross the road’ I mean there is not even one hundreth of any ounceling of comedy in that statement and all other sad comments. These people need prayer and thats AMEN.kukhona lokhu okonakele emsamo ngempela!!
This was really bad for SABC but for uSthenjwa you have landed my brother. I have a thing with people falling, I just laugh and laugh until my spine is sore. Mzantsi needs to compile the Best of TV chuckles. What with Terreblanche falling off his horse, Rajbansi’s wig coming off on TV, now Nene falling off a chair during a live interview. If you look at his eyes after the 1st crack, you would think he has diarrhea. Do not be so serius Unathi. The man ain’t too big after all.
Next time I go for an interview at SABC, I’m bringing my own chair. Everytime I feel a little down, I just play this video. Then I would laugh all the way.
have u noticed every black person who responds has rasict comments.Every other fellow sees the humour in the incident.Come on,even when Terblanche fell of his horse every walk of life saw the humour .WAKE UP ,THE BLACK AFRICANS CANNOT GET OVER RACE ISSUES
TABI tell me when is the call to respect our elders ‘racist’? The fact is we can not standby while our fathers are humiliated. One must not always give in to the natural urge to laugh at so called ‘funny’ occurences.Tell me when under the regime a young boy ordered a man more than 3 times his age to dance like a monkey and the man did ,would that be funny???
Do not merely look at the face value of things but look at the underlying humiliation. What about his right to dignity? the incident is an unfunny unfortunate incident and let us all at all times exercise respect for all people, especially anyone who is a day older than you(i.e elders)
Bwahahahaha! Apparently he is NOT a chair-person.
Just like the Rand -> Dollar – he fell hard…
hope the ANC follows suit..
Dude, the falling Chariman’s gonna be the next big viral hit, for sure!
His eyes, when the chair snaps … Damn, never gonna forget it!
I’m laughing soooo hard right now!
Creeeeeek…
…wait for it…
BANG!
this is a joke of the week, the irony is that he was talking about members of parliament digesting the finance document BUT he could not digest the fact that he is about to fall.
hahahaha!!!! that was a heavy fall.
Oh My God – That is so insanely funny, I have tears!! Thank you Chris, you have totally made my day!!!
You made my day!
That was hilarious!! After the first crack he was already thinking ‘oh s#*t’! and then it was all downhill from there… thank you for making me laugh :)
Why Didn’t he react after the first crack? Bwaahahaahaha… Arrogant dummy!
that was the most embarassing moment the guy has ever had,the least we can do is sympathize with him…….very funny thou because he had a chance to prevent himself from falling….i think from the time he heard the crack he should have done something, maybe stand up or something….i feel very sorry for him..man of his calibre!!!!
It was very embarasing for the fat man. hope you cope with the shame on SABC
I’m just proud of that anchor, she handled it so well. i would have cracked up after he went tumbling down. Did you see his eyes? Omg that was so funny, I’ve been laughing about it the whole day.
