An overdose of web multi tasking?
I read an interesting article earlier, which I’ve decided not to link back to, as I don’t feel it fits correctly.
This article, I read, got me thinking about the possibility of too much Internet causing a breakdown, basically like a complete information overload *bzzzt pop*.

On a daily basis I juggle about 40 tasks and this doesn’t include updating iMod, reading tweets, chatting to tweeple, following RSS feeds, updating websites, handling the conversations on GTalk, Yahoo!, MSN, Skype and a few others.
For the average person, who just uses the Internet to do some Googling or to check email, you won’t quite understand what goes into being a complete Internet junkie, but for those of you who are or have been, you will know exactly what I’m talking about. It’s like an addiction, you just can’t get enough! When you’re away for a weekend, you check your mobile phone for emails or instant messages and occasionally post a tweet, and this is when you’re meant to be relaxing! The websphere hooks you in and doesn’t let you out!
The number of nights I’ve sat up until 5am only to realise that I have to be up in a few hours is second to nothing, yesterday was the first night in several years that I think I went to bed before midnight! It’s now 2am and I’m typing up this blog post, whilst running a number of tasks I have to complete tomorrow at work, through my mind and holding a conversation with 7 different people!
Is it possible that we, who are Internet junkies, are placing ourselves in a dangerous position?
Too much interwebs!

Fully concur Chris!
Even when you’re not ‘plugged in’ you’re ‘plugged in’…or waiting for the earliest opportunity to get ‘plugged in’ and share information with your online community, who more often than not are not the people who you spend time with offline… lol
Matrix Revolution here we come.

Absolutely, it’s just scary to think of all the attention and information there is flying in and out of our minds constantly!
