GetWine.co.za provides brilliant service!

Last week I noticed that I had a huge collection of white wine, and very little red wine. This concerned me, as I’m a big red wine fan! I was planning on heading to the bottle store but got caught up at work and decided that I would give ordering wine online a try.

I popped on over to GetWine and took a quick look around, I wanted something dry, with a little bit of a fruit touch, so I looked around and came across their unlabelled 2005 Cab Sauv / Shiraz and decided to order some.

I made a quick phone call and found out that they do order on a Saturday, so I quickly placed my order (14/08/2008) and requested that the wine be delivered on Saturday (16/08/2008) and sure enough it was delivered on Saturday, 2 days later!

The wine is decent, nothing overly special, basically a nice every day relaxing red.

  1. Do you get paid for these posts, Chris?

  2. Chris M says:

Not for this one hey, but there are a couple which I’ve been paid for :)

I can also vouch for them, very quick and effective service.
I’m in Joburg and my wine also arrived in only a few days(I think was 3 days).

Wine not sooo overwhelming good as you said, but keeps the tastebuds occupied for some time.

I guess the wine I bought was 20bux a bottle, can’t expect too much at that price, but it’s an enjoyable every-day wine :)

  5. 20 ront (old word for Rand) wine is very good for cooking in.

If you want some good plonk, take a drive out to Nedeberg Wine Estates and pick up a case of their Cabernet Sauvignon.

You will think it’s very lekker, hey!

  6. Chris M says:

Cooking.. haha, yes yes, but it’s paletable in fact :)

  7. “Palatable” is what you proffer to your cats.

“Not too bad” is what you dump on your dog.

“I say, this is jolly good stuff, where did you get it!?” is what you drink yourself.

Got something to say? Go for it!
