GMail experiences huge systemwide outage!

A few minutes ago, I was busy with some important documents on Google as well as a couple emails and upon sending the emails, everything just hung and I was booted from the system to this:

gmail-down

TechCrunch reported:

Gmail is having a systemwide outage affecting multiple countries, and a whole bunch of its 100 million users are screaming about it on Twitter. Around 20 million people visit Gmail each day, according to Comscore, and they’re all seeing the same message. The first outages were reported at about 2 pm PST, 44 minutes ago. The Gmail blog is silent on the outage, instead giving readers some useful tips on customizing web clips.

Looking around the net quickly, showed a number of other people experiencing this, so I guess it’s bed time for me!

Visit the Gmail Blog for more information (Nothing there yet).

Hehe i’ve had that once before as well when gmailing, people love to sensationalise a little glitch – at least they were good enough to show an error page, as apposed to a page full of errors :)

hehe, I also experienced it a few times. And Adsense is also down quite alot “for maintenance” as well these days.

maybe the load is just getting too much for them … “maybe pushing millions of MB of bandwidth per second”
