Telkom.co.za – This page is not Valid HTML 4.01 Strict – 33 Errors!
I can’t believe it, you’d imagine a company with a monopoly would have enough bucks to hire a proper new media agency to redo their website. Not only from a design point of view, but a correct user experience service would benefit them too!
At least they’re using xhtml and css to structure the website, although, I must admit, the source code looks as though it’s been hacked from a free template website, hmmm.
Running the website through Validator, reveals tons of problems!

LOL yeah dude…
its Telkom … so yeah wouldn’t expect anything better. Check out the dobroadband.co.za website. Its possibly the worst flash ever!
They should get TRR to redo it :P

Hehe, ye, I would just imagine that telkom would at least do that properly! Haha, I’m sure TRR could redo that fantastically!

No ways, they rather spend the money bribing the communications minister.

Well, even google and microsoft fail to validate with 59 and 177 errors respectively. If the “so-called” pioneers in all that is good and evil in this world can’t even manage it, where does that leave everyone else?
Incidentally, the pirate bay validates.

Let me guess. Prezence did that site?
Aug 5th, 2008 at 9:36 pm
I’m not actually sure who did the build Jacques..
Aug 5th, 2008 at 9:45 pm
Of course, your own site fails validation with 408 errors:
http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http%3A%2F%2Fimod.co.za%2F
So maybe take the log out of your own eye first, Dalai Llama?
(Also, on benchmarks, your site takes about ten times longer to load than just about any other site I’ve tried.)

One would imagine that they have a decent budget as well as a person, if not a team, to handle such an operation. I’m a single man team, with very little budget and an incredibly high work load. The comparison is pointless.
I long for the day that you might throw a decent comment my way Jonathan, perhaps this extends further than just random online banter. I’m correct, aren’t I :)

rofl @ Chris
@ Jacques Marneweck : Presence’s work is way more professional dude… this looks like it was done by an a brother of the CEO’s son in swish.

I agree, Presence is an amazing agency, I’ve known 2 or 3 people who’ve worked their and they were all quality driven, so ye, probably a family member of someone high up in the ranks..

Hi Guys, Prezence are definately not guilty (including any of our relatives ;) ..and thanks for your kind words. The only Telkom related site we produce is the http://www.entertainmentafrica.com deployment (DObroadband takes an xml content feed from that only. We would love to get our hands on that and do it properly though).
BTW: if any of you guys fancy coming to join the amazingly talented boys and girls at Prezence.. just shout, we are employing at an amazing rate for Flash, Silverlight, Web2CSS, PHP and Mobile. Maybe we can then sort out Telkom’s stuff ;)
Best regards Tim
