Lately, I’ve done a large number of posts about Adsense, as I’ve started to realize that there’s a huge local demand for inspiration and understanding. Over the past few months I’ve averaged out at $500.00 a month for my midnight missions and I want to inspire those who are just getting started up, don’t give up, this takes time!

I wonder if I could ever break the $600.00 mark this month? As long as I challenge myself monthly to push a little harder, I foresee this growing and growing until something big changes on Google’s side of the operation!
Feel free to pop me an email if you’re interested in more information. Please remember, due to the large number of emails I receive daily from my readers (+-50), it might take me a couple days to response.

Chris, does that mean my $1.85 I made in Google Adsense so far this year must not deter me from giving up.
How are you? I was very worried when you site went down. Thought you left! Have a nice weekend.
Re: Feel free to pop me an email if you’re interested in more information.
I am interested.
Rustig.. hehe, well bud, I must admit, I was making a bit more when I started out, but it wasn’t a lot and on many occasions I felt like giving up! Rather push forwards, target more, read articles by bloggers and so forth. I’m well thanks, hehe, it sucked man, 24hours of down time really hits home on my side! Have a wicked weekend your side too mate!
Francois – Uhm, what information exactly? Hmmm
You say it takes time? Like how much time? How long did it take you to get to that amount? Do you have any hints on how to make it work?
Great job!!
Hi Anne, it’s taken a long time, probably a couple years of exploring and learning. The thing that I’ve found, is that once you get it going, it carries on and on and it’s very rare that you go downwards, unless something really problematic occurs. I’ve seen a steady increase in both revenue and traffic to my site..
Hi Chris,
would be interesting to know if you earn those ~$500 per month just here at imod.co.za or also with your other sites…
I make most of AdSense cash not with my main blog http://www.idoctor.co.za but more with my niche sites…
Enjoy!
Hi Nils, this website makes a huge contribution to my overall monthly Adsense cheques, but I do have a couple other little sites which pull in some dollars. I’ve actually got Adsense spread across this website in very targeted positions – I have some scripts I wrote, which show certain adverts to certain IP ranges and so forth :)
Wow, $510 on 44k page impressions? It really would be interesting to see your CTR and CTM.
I have just checked my AdSense stats for this month and it’s as follows
129,256 3,685 2.85% $2.64 $340.61
It seems you don’t get too many of those 1c clicks like I do.
I used to earn on average about $1,500/month last year on my Wikipedia mirrors until one bright and sunny morning they were almost completely dropped from Google – Good thing I didn’t quit my day job like I was considering at the time.
Also, not sure if you noticed but there is a PR update going on. :)
Hi Russell, some things I just can’t share ;) But for you, I’ll give you an indication that CTR and eCPM are both around 10%
With regards to the 1c clicks, what you should do is use the blocking feature, which allows you to block certain adverts, that way you can limit the 1c clicks quite nicely! It takes quite some time researching and spotting the cheapos, but once you’re aware of how Adwords works, it doesn’t take too long.
Why not add me on Skype or MSN (chris.formfunction OR msn@imod.co.za) and let’s chat..
PR.. yes, Google seem to be updating more frequently these days!
Hey Guys, just my 2 cents. Sounds like you have been “Smart Priced” to me Russell. Happens to many Adsense publishers especially if sites contain quite a bit of duplicate content (not saying yours has).
The “Competitive Ad Filter” in your Adsense admin area would be a useful feature for you to play around with I rate and may help to filter out low paying ads. You can get very handy free lists of low CPC advertisers if you sign up and use this site: http://www.adsblacklist.com
I’ve used these lists to filter out low paying ads with some success :)
AdsBlackList is a really good starting point, totally forgot to mention that, thanks for popping in and reminding Justin!
Strange thing this. I only see one ad on your site? Is that correct?
Another thing, is this from Imod only? because that’s not bad if it is. I mean, its quite a lot.
Also, I did not find this post in my rss feed, i totally missed it somehow? No idea why.
Hey bud. As you know from our chat on MSN, there’s a little more to it.
Missed it in your RSS.. that’s really strange, I hope this is the only article and that something isn’t broken!
Hey yes, thanks for the chat. Somewhat encouraging.
Must be my rss feed reader, that time I used Thunderbird. I am using Greatnews as a feed reader now. Really great rss reader with way more functions.
Anyway, enjoy the rest of the weekend.
Awesome bro, we must chat again soon! I use FeedDemon, seems to do everything I need. I know that Google FeedReader is damn good, I just prefer an external application for this.
Have a good one!
Hey, I thought publishing CTR and CPM is against Adsense TOS?
Is true?
Anyway, well done. I’d love to know more about weeding out the 1c clicks, how’s it done?
I’m not completely sure, but I think you’re right. You will notice that I have faded out those columns anyway :)
There was a blacklist website, which actually shows you which adverts are nonsense and then inside your Adsense Manager, there is a place to setup black listed domains..
