I was having a ciggie and just looking down on Roeland Street when I saw a dark green Hyundai cruising fairly quickly and shortly afterwards a police vehicle which seemed to be chasing it. In a split second the police vehicle took the corner too quickly and well made a right up the wrong lane to say the least, hitting the Hyundai whilst doing so. I was not really paying attention and missed quite a bit of it unfortunately, but I managed to grab a photograph.
In the picture below, you can see the Hyundai a little further up the road and the police car mounted right into the robot as well as a security company car.
I’m not surprised, that 4-way intersection is crazy at times! This is the second incident I’ve seen on Roeland Street now!

Classic.
The thing that I find interesting is that Roeland is a pretty busy, main road, so stuff is almost expected to happen. Kloof Street on the other hand isn’t really a major road, it’s busy, but not as big as Roeland. People tend to get onto the road and suddenly drive like total retards though, and the number of accidents and road rage incidents are staggering, lol. When I worked at my old job, which was on Kloof, at least once or twice a week there was something going down, it’s insane.
Ye, I know, from 5am every morning I hear the noise! Grrr! The other day I was speaking to a friend saying that I couldn’t believe that I hadn’t seen a car crash yet at that intersection, I guess I spoke too soon :/
Nice catch!
One would think that advanced driving training would be somewhere near the top of the list for the cops. Well maybe I’m a bit optimistic with the advanced bit – they should start with basic stuff first!
Hahaha! Nice one….you gotta love SAP for creating such entertainment.
This is the second post with you hanging out the window for a “ciggie”.
At least the SAP still drives around instead of sleeping behind the desk.
Chris: I may knock on your door soon, as your are a “php rock star”.
@Karen, absolutely! I wonder if they do any form of drive training at all? Did you have a good Birthday?
@MissE, haha, couldn’t agree more ;)
@Rustig, Lol, yes, I tend to do that from time to time don’t I, even with the freezing weather :P Yes, good to know that they’re out and about serving our country well! “PHP rock star” – I wouldn’t quite say that, hehe :) You’re welcome any time!
