  1. Would be cool to check out the concert. 50 is a bit washed up right now, but is worth seeing because of his past albums. When he was good, he was good. Then he got “Wanksta” on us and turned pussy! :)

Lloyd Banks is the man to look out for the future of G Unit. Known to be the muscle of the group, he will most likely succeed as leader and he has this REAL smooth flow about him.

The South is big right now, and Young Buck definitely brings that flavour, guys like Young Jeezy, Slim Thug, Bun B are all South side rappers, so the South influence will be cool with Banks leading with his smooth hooks.

    :) Clearly I’m a hip hop fan!

  2. I would love to see Justin Timberlake and 50 Cent perform, especially if it could be like JT’s concert at Madison Square Gardens – what a rocking concert!

Lloyd Banks.. I agree with you 100%.

Ye bud, I know you love your hip hop, we must swop some tunes again in the near future, I need to up my collection!

  3. Chris: Friends of mine went to see Justine Timberlake in Dublin last year. They were not impressed. He is not really the live performance type. I think it is difficult to get the same affect to his music live than on record. I saw the same concert on TV here later and thought it was a bit lame.

  4. Interesting, I watched the Madison Square Gardens concert and it was incredible, in fact, I would actually go out and by the DVD!

Perhaps that Dublin performance was not that impressive?

    What you reckon?

  5. Chris I am not a concert person as crowds make me a bit uneasy. I even avoid London Underground during peak time. My first and last concert was 100 years ago in Wembley watching Depeche Mode.
Maybe the Justin venue in Dublin was a bit crappy. I prefer to watch the music video. After all not that much of a fan. Prefer 50’s 60’s music.

  6. @ Chris – BUY the dvd, not by the dvd!

Shame on you bud! where did you get your shocking education again :p

  7. @Rustig – Interesting you say that, I’ve started to feel the same about crowds! I work EXTREMELY hard during the day and when I get out, the last thing I’m able to deal with is a whole lot of noise and movement. Depeche Mode – what a killer concert that must have been! I’m loving jazz music at the moment :)

@HoTsTePPa – Argh, sorry man, so damn busy that these things happen. I went to this all boys school in the Southern Suburbs, was meant to be a good one ;)

  12. Since buck is no longer in g unit is he still coming down?

  13. That’s a good question and I actually don’t know the answer, let me know if you find out please!

  14. Yo.

I heard Koldproduk might be opening for 50 when he come here to Cape Town, is this True?

I peeped the video and i know it’s got a SAMA nomination and the boys are crazy hot on the mic, so it’ll be cool if they came to the Mother City so we can see what the hype’s about.

SA Hip hop’s going places this year, i mean peep Jabba and em. Now Koldproduk?

    Nice album though, no hateration.
    D

  15. I also heard that, what a wicked opening!

    You got your tickets?

  16. ‘HoTsTePPa’… u dont know what u talkn about u muppet… go to a doctor and get ur head chekd before u wreck urself.. Pleb!!! lol, 50′Cent washed up, dont make me laugh. hahah

  17. Lol, Jman.. careful, he’s a regular around here, have some respect mate..

  18. he is all that just saw him, know leaving the airport all i can say cameras aint doing him any justice bets teeth ever ha ha ha ha ha

  19. Hi Janet, little hard to know what you’re talking about, hehe. Did you go to the concert?

  20. HotTseppa surely you are not a hip hop fan because if you listen to the new album you will understand that his game is back.the problem is that you are in south africa where hip hop is dead!

  21. He is a big hip hop fan, I think he just doesn’t go to much into this commercial stuff :)

  22. :)

I am a HUGE hip hop fan.

I was also a very big 50 fan when he was rolling out hits one after the other. I respect his previous work and he was genuinely good at his prime. His prime is over though and its going to take a lot to bring him back. He doesn’t have the staying power that ppl like Nas, Jay Z and even T.I. have. These guys drop album after album, disappear for months and still come back with killer albums. Not one or two songs… ALBUMS of good stuff.

Sorry if I offended you guys, but I think 50’s prime is over. I didn’t make the concert though, but I heard he is a good performer.

I’m a Fat Joe fan, but was REALLY disappointed in his performance recently. Guess its the concert artist vs the studio artist thing!

  23. Hey HoTsTePPa,

Thanks for popping in and putting some very valid information across. I agree with you about 50 not having the staying power, it’s a good observation!

I’ll remain optimistic and hope that he does manage :)

  24. MAAAAAAAAAN!!!! I never knew South Africa had such hot talent! Did any of you guys see koldproduk open for 50 cent???

I know 50 is an international superstar but koldproduk where HOTTT!! Thats the first time I had ever seen them or even heard about them and im already their biggest fan!

Am I the only one that thinks that koldproduk is just as hot as 50?

Is their album called koldproduk or All under heaven??

    HS

  25. Hey,

SA hiphop is taking off in a HUGE way. One of the biggest players to watch is DJ Ready D. The guy has been on a roll for a while now and i think that he played his best set recently when he opened for AKON and Fat Joe. He is just CRAZY as a DJ!

Some local Cape Town guys to watch is Ben Sharpa, The Acrhitypes and The Realists from a group called Pioneer Unit. I don’t know much about them, but they definitely got some good stuff to listen out to.

Would be keen to hear if anyone knows of any good HipHop gigs happening in and around CT.

  26. Let’s support hip hop music by buying from stores not street.

  27. Hey Chris – hope you doing lekka.

Just wanted to let you and some of your readers know that Koldproduk gave me a report-back on their 50c gig – they are pretty cool!

    http://peakperformances.co.za/2008/05/07/koldproduk-tells-peak-all-about-their-50c-gig/

    Keep yourself well!

  28. Very well thanks bud, how are you doing? Ah wicked, thanks for the link, hope you get some traffic from your friendly spamming efforts ;)

  29. Doing cool man! Hehe – spamming – damn no – you just got Koldproduk fans like Dez, and Hotspott, and of course you!

Like they say – For You, You & You!

    Heheh cheers

  30. Glad to hear that you’re well bud! I was just teasing out, it’s all about sharing traffic, pushing and pulling between the local blogs!

Hehehe, keep well man, I’ll chat to you soon, I’m outies :)

Have your say..
