  1. Nick says:

Slackers recently moved to US hosting, sorry. :(

  2. Chris M says:

Damn! That’s a good site and one which I know many people used to reply on for a good laugh at the expense of only local bandwidth :/

  3. lyc says:

    emigrate!

  4. Chris M says:

If only it were that simple lyc..

  5. lyc says:

oh it is (esp if you’re a student or skilled worker): http://www.immigration.govt.nz/

there are zilions south africans here (myself included), e.g. brown’s bay is nicknamed “boereworsbaai” :P

scored a really nice job here too, technical work, the sort i’d never be offered in sa! so, highly recommended; probably like me you’ll be happy to keep your memories of sa mostly-positive, not following the general trend into … well, ask the anc.

  6. Chris M says:

Hehe, ye, for me it’s a little more about friends, family and my girlfriend being here and not wanting to lose them. As well as my new apartment and car and the fact that I do really enjoy my job..

  7. lyc says:

so it is easy, just not a simple decision to make. a petrol-powered car is a liability these days (in countries with public transport), and you should also try to get your girlfriend away from all the crime!

    hmm that’s a big mission :|

well, just my superinflated 2c, sorry for the ramble eh but telkom reminds me a lot of south africa’s not-so-cool side.

  8. Chris M says:

Hehe, I live across the road from work, so I don’t go through a lot of petrol and my girlfriend studies law here, which doesn’t allow for credit transfers to overseas, we checked :)

Ramble.. no worries!!! That’s what these threads are for, something to do inbetween all the work, please do stick around :)

  9. Nadia says:

Hi :) are all these websites (beside Slackers) still hosted in SA? and also, if its .com and not .co.za and it on this list, does it still mean its SA hosted? hmm. . . thanks!

  10. Chris M says:

Hi Nadia, yes, all the websites are hosted locally and they have people actively adding good sites and removing bad ones..

Got something to say? Go for it!
