Hi Chris M,

I've missed a lot of these comms, but could you please supply me with a brief over view of the PAYPAL/FNB processes and general experiences that you have had.

We're setting up a international firm and are in the process of finalizing our New Zealand counter parts and moving on to Venezuela and Saudi Arabia within the next two months.

We must work through a trusted commerce like PAYPAL.

Thanks man and thanks for all you hard work on this subject, we all owe you a lot.

Cheers

I use moneybookers on a daily basis. You simply add your bank account number to your moneybookers account. When you want to withdraw you simply choose withdraw to account and within 5 working days the money arrives in your local bank account by wire transfer which costs aroud R17. I own a site similar to Google and also accept moneybookers for advert product (Adwords/Adsense type). If you want to deposit money into moneybookers you can do so by credit card instant or by internet transfer (They have a local Bank account). No headaches like Paypal

Michael, Hi, I have almost finished the confirmation process, just the bank verify to do, however, EBay offer this as an option to pay, so if you say US not, then I am worried, besides, is this not credit card transactions enabled which is what I want as the purchases of the products will probably be done via the credit card as well? Only once it is linked to Ebay will I see if it works and also, when I want to withdraw again, but, all I can say is Paypal is painful, they block your account and limit you, so stay away. What I have seen is that the majority of the “drop ship/Wholesale” sites all want you to pay with credit cards, so I thought, if the buyer wants to pay, they can do same. I have learnt Alibaba is poison, I lost $4856 buying via Western Union and the supplier disappeared getting 6 refunds in one month and a suspension on my account with Paypal and yesterday when I called, they referred me to 180 days suspension and account closed. I am almost starting afresh and need things like a Domain where I can have a website, where I can have a cart which deals with different currencies and adds shipping to it and used Moneybookers to receive the money. I like Moneybookers mainly because of the Escrow part, not used yet, but, if I do not get the goods, then I do not lose the money.

Moneybookers is an alternative for Ebay. Ebay accepts moneybookers but you have to go through the confirmation process. I use it on Ebay however most US residents especially citizens are not allowed to open moneybookers accounts apparently due to some American regulations similar to South Africa's. However Moneybookers is world wide (Both receiving and sending money) apart from US citizens.

@Alan - Ye, when it comes to business, doing anything below the radar is going to come back in later days an nip, unfortunately. I don't use Ebay, so I can't really assist there, but perhaps someone else on this thread will come and assist you :)

Gee, I really need to have it legit, I do not want any comebacks later on, as it is, I have $4856 in Paypal and I cannot touch it. I deal on Ebay US and I am doing okay on it, now, the challenge is to find a payment method the buyers are confident to use. I wish they had a customer services in our country. Any best alternative you guys suggest working on Ebay?

Technically and somewhat legally, you need to be a resident of a country to get a PayPal account there. There are ways to work around this, but they're not completely legal and you need to be really careful about how you do it all - This is based on a lot of exploration from my side.

Paypal SA is verified with FNB, I never knew you get a Paypal USA, do I need a US bank account. I have spent the last hour looking at the Paypal comments, well, I never want to go back if this is a norm, I actually cannot believe FNB would back them?

Hi Alan, I've been using Monsterpay (www.setcom.com) for years and they give excellent service. I've gone back to using my USA PayPal because the SA one is just too much hassle.

Guys, I logged on, got excited, got a Paypal and started up a online retailing drop ship, I was a month in and Paypal limited my transactions, they wanted invoices, contact details etc, I gave this all to them and now they say, they have limited me for 180 days and then they close my account. EBay and the likes all use Paypal, what now, it is expensive to call them, FNB cannot help, they do not have a customer services you can visit in SA, they have the power to close you if they think you have suspicious activity, this is bull dust and I am rather pissed at them.
