The Bloggerati was fantastic, yay for SA Bloggers!

Last night saw the gathering of geeks at the Bloggerati. The Bloggerati took place at Long Street Cafe. I fetched Rox around 9ish and we dashed through. On arriving, we were totally unsure as to what everyone would look like and started to think that perhaps we arrived there before anyone else. After a quick text to Rafiq, he confirmed that he was on his way after being filmed by Carte Blanche all day. Rafiq arrived 5 minutes later and found us quickly. I’ve known Rafiq for roughly 10 years and have never met him, don’t ask! Rafiq is a great guy, he’s just as he is offline, as he is online. Shortly after Rafiq arrived, Jason Bagley arrived, as well as Vinny Lingham (There’s your link for the drink, haha). What a pleasure it was to finally meet Vinny in person.

As the night went on, more and more bloggers arrived and I did my best to have a chat to or at least introduce myself to everyone. I managed to see Matthew Buckland, but unfortunately wasn’t able to catch him for a few minutes, but next time mate! It’s so hard to remember everyone I saw and met! Joey from FormFunction and his beautiful wife, Christine, from Altersage made an appearance. Yasser and I managed to have a chat and catch up with everything that has been going on, great meeting you bud! Powerhouse, Charl Norman allied with shit hot designer Malan were there too, it’s been years since I caught up with these two guys! Michael, who previously worked for Myvideo, brought me up to scratch with his movements – I wish you all the best bud! An all suited up Dave Duarte was there too, but unfortunately didn’t manage to talk to him – next time mate! Finally managed to meet Migs, the brains behind Web AddiCTs (no offense Rafiq, you clever too hehe), thanks again for the script bud! I also had a chance to talk to Tristan Owen, the chat included a shot of Jaggie with David Mackie, thanks to Brandon Golding!

There’s a stack of other people I ran into and honestly I’m almost falling asleep, so if I’ve forgotten your name, flame me on your blog and link back ;) I’d also like to thank the guys from Stormhoek for sponsoring some of the wine – that rose is very soothing on the rocks!
My night went on until very very early this morning, but more about that another time *has a giggle*

Right, tag tag tag, link back people, I could do with the traffic! :P

Justine – Ah, which Michael are you referring to? Cynn?

  8. Giggle, no … the Michael you mentioned in your post, used to work at My video.

  9. Ah, sorry was getting mixed up.. Justin/Justine.. I know a Justine who knows cynn and a Justin who knows Michael from the event lol. Michael, ex myvideo, seems to be doing well, but I’m not entirely sure about the specifics of News24..

  10. Hee hee, confusion deluxe. Especially caused by my nimble fingers skipping letters on the keyboard ;) Thanks for the update … mwah

  11. Sjoe, ya, it’s been a rough couple of days and even 1 missed character totally throws me off track! :P

  12. hehe – should be the other brain behind Web AddiCT(s);

If the Web AddiCT(s); were a dicotyledonous seed. I’d be one half & Miguel the other.

Is rafiq leaving arb comments again?

    Not really – http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cotyledon

Was good to meet you after knowing you online for nearly 10 years :)

  13. Ye mate, sorry, didn’t mean to put it out so bluntly, hehe, I know you got brains and I know that are are most definitely a powerful half to the Web AddiCT(s); – there’s no doubt about that, after all, you were on Carte Blanche! hehe

Was good meeting you too mate, 10 years is a bloody long wait!

  14. I likes the evening very much, a shame the place was a tad packed and many peeps were turned off by then. But next year around we get a nice befuck venue and make sure it’s a big bash! Whooo

  15. Next year? No ways, we must have another one soon! hehe! Definitely worth while evening indeed :)

Have your say..
