Mobile Marketing – Why it works?
In the digital age, companies that want to stay ahead need the tools to do so. Mobile marketing is one of those tools. This method of advertising allows businesses to connect to those that they need to, effectively. It allows the organization to send messages to mobile phones to promote a product or a service. It can also be used to tell their targeted audience that the store parking lot they just pulled into has something on sale. Or, it allows them to know that today is the last day for the lowest price of the seasons. Mobile marketing works for several reasons.
Convenience
Let’s face it. We are all working on finding the best way to accomplish all that we need to in the fastest, most convenient way. Mobile marketing allows individuals to receive the information they need to reach their goals, when they need it. It is convenient because it allows for no external needs. They don’t have to get online to see the advert. They don’t have to have the radio on a specific channel either. They don’t have to watch the television commercials to hear it. They get the information on their mobile phone. How many people that you know don’t take their phone with them?
Get It To The Right Audience
Mobile marketing is targeted advertising. You don’t find yourself pushing a new electronic gadget on the senior citizen that doesn’t know how to send an email. Because there is an activation process, the marketing goes to those who it will work for, those who are interested in the products and services available. There are few other mediums that can do that.
Personal Touch
The personal nature of mobile marketing also is effective for this type of advertising. The message is sent directly to them, not to a board range of people. This personal nature is quite effective at making them click and buy.
Mobile marketing is an excellent type of marketing that we can count on seeing more of down the road. Because of how well it works, more and more companies are realising that this is the marketing of the future. Why waste money, precious advertising cash on a ‘maybe they will see it’ type of advertising? Mobile marketing is fast becoming the advertising medium.
See you soon.

We are a cellphone application. We allow users to exchange multimedia, messages, emails and IM for free from their mobile phones. In return the users are served multimedia ads on their mobile phones. Your article is very interesting. We appreciate the excellent way in which you have expressed the value of mobile marketing in this blog.

Thanks, that is great Chris. Let me know if you need any help. Also
you will not see any ads until we serve them to you. If you give me
the number of the phone that you have registered then I can serve you
ads on that phone. What model of phone have you installed the ap on?

Nice post. Pity I only read it today.
Anyways I’m kind of making inroads into this line of work. Mobile is the way forward. Although personally I believe with the advent of .php code and the like. There need not be so much difference between mobile and net marketing. The amalgamation cometh.
Wouldn’t mind a chat about mobile. Besides anyone who makes a “pot” inspired facebook app is quite obviously worth talking too.

Hahaha! Mobile Marketing is an interesting arena. I feel that the crux behind succeeding in this field requires an application which is useful. The adverts need to be carefully placed in the application or during the loading of the application and must be very user specific.
I’ve not done much mobile marketing myself, but I can imagine the potential!

Yeah I suppose Splash-screens do work, as in on MXit etc. But Vodacoms recent offerings should ‘heat’ up the scene. Their music directory is revolutionary really.

Good point, guess we’ll have to wait and see what the market has to offer!
