Facebook has proven very useful as the months have gone by, whether it’s finding old friends, communicating with people or using its power for business related purposes. I have managed to contact friends I’ve not heard from in years, and have managed to run flyer adverts, create groups and other business tools.
As useful as it has been, I am finding that these days Facebook is showing more and more errors on their system. The flyer pro manager isn’t entirely perfect, pausing campaigns doesn’t always work, sending mass group messages seems to timeout, and there are a few other kinks in the system.
Today I was just trying to perform a few usual tasks, such as messaging friends, and I kept getting errors :( Are their servers starting to take strain, is Facebook going to be Facebroke? And then to top things off.. if the server is breaking, is our information secure?

One thing I have always struggled with is the time it takes to login. I don’t know if it’s just me (not my connection, happens at work and at the g/f’s place), but after clicking the login button, I can wait up to 5 mins for everything to load up.
This is not even other people’s profile pages, I know that if someone has an app that is hosted on a sub standard server, that can slow down the load time of the page, but this is the default “what’s been happening” page that I sit waiting for :(
Personally, I laugh at people who put every little detail down on facebook (phonenumbers, addresses etc.), the people I want to have that info have it, and as you said (and has been proven), the server’s aren’t as secure with that info as people may think. I read something a while back that the RSS feeds for example, didn’t honour your profile privacy settings.
Ye, it’s slowed down big time, there’s no doubt about that!
I put my details on the site, purely for friends to look at. Because I run this blog, and I’m very open and honest online, I feel no point hiding on Facebook, and for the fact that they state in their terms and conditions that they have the right to terminate your account if all your current information isn’t on the site. I’d rather have my account than not, and if that means putting all my details on, then so be it. I do a fair amount of business related activities, otherwise I wouldn’t really care.
Limited profiles are very useful!
Limitied profile is my friend. :D
I like catching up with friends, but there are some things some friends shouldn’t be privvy too. Just like my family. Some things are just personal dadblameit.
I have been getting error messages more recently than in the past… but I don’t think about it too much. It’s like the constant error messages on myspace, which I use much less infrequently than facebook.
I guess that’s all I got for now.
K thx bye.
Ye, I have a large number of “friends” on Facebook, so I have also neatly placed half of them in the limited profile spec. It’s fairly useful I must say.
Ye, Facebook seems to be taking some strain, but it’s understandable!
Bye bye
