Update Facebook Status via Google Talk
Yeigo -> GTalk -> Facebook Status – FREE & SIMPLE!
Early this evening I was having a chat to Rafiq from Web Addi(CT)s; and he told me how I could change my Facebook status via GTalk, and I was instantly hooked. Between trying to light a smoke, sign up for the services, I finally managed to get it working, and it’s actually rather straight forward. Let me explain..
Step 1 – First off, you need a Twitter Account. You can do this by heading over to Twitter and signing up. The process is simple, and shouldn’t take more than 3o seconds. Once you have done this, enable your IM via Twitter, which you will see on the site. Once you have done so, you will be asked to add a Twitter bot as a GTalk contact, and you will need to send the bot a special message – You should be alright, it’s not very complicated.
Step 2 – You need a Facebook profile. You can do this.. HAHA, as if you don’t have one! Go into Facebook, and add the Twitter application.. Add Application. Once you have added the twitter application, there is an option available to you, which allows you to update your Facebook Status via Twitter.. enable this.
Step 3 – Message the GTalk Twitter Bot with your status message, and that’s it, as simple as that.
You will never have to login to Facebook to change your status again, nor will you have to use Facebook Mobile :)
Have fun!

Hi Alex, I will take a look when I get a chance and see what I can find. I’m just fairly caught up at the moment with a few things I must prioritize :)
Thanks for popping in!

i’ve done this since a couple of months ago, but i still dont like to see on FB status “USER is twittering: MSG”.
i really would like to get rid of the “is twittering” sentence.

Ye algarcia, that is a marketing ploy clearly, not sure you’re going to be able to remove that easily unfortunately :/

of course, that won’t happen but it would be really nice. many friends (not twitters) have asked me what is twittering and i’m like shy to tell since it reveals how geek some of us are. :(
anyways, it would be really nice if twitter allowed you to remove that “is twittering” thing.

Hehe, I use TWhirl to do my twittering, it’s a lovely application, which runs in your system tray. You can download a copy from TWhirl.com
I think I’ll do a review shortly..

How do I enable Twitter with Gmail. Tried adding “Twitter@Twitter.com” in Gtalk, but the account does not exist.
